Hello! Here I am back in the North Land that is Bergen, Norway. So far things are going well as I have been settling back in. I've started two chamber music groups, a bassoon quartet and a woodwind quintet. I am also getting ready to give a recital at the end of September to make up the one that got canceled in the Spring. I'm also hoping to take a Norwegian course that is being offered through a church. Still waiting to hear back from them. There are three new Americans at the Academy this year and they are all very nice. Two are flute players and one a bassoonist. I am hoping to find a new apartment with one of the flute players but we will see how it goes. Currently there aren't a lot apartments available but they should be opening up soon as the semester goes on. Also on the search for a reasonably priced bike and I may have found one. Checking it out tomorrow morning. I think that may be it as far as the basics of what I am up to with school and whatnot. Tomorrow I hope to finally emerge from quarantine, as I have been very sick for the past four days. What a drag! I have literally been in bed for four days! And of course the weather has been gorgeous the whole time. But hopefully it will be nice tomorrow too. As far as more fun things go I have a long reading list for pleasure and for my thesis research that I will post here. Also hoping to go on a fjord cruise and lots of hikes.
I think that is all for now. But I will write more soon.
